The curtain opens and closes. The installer is ready to leave. This is the moment to record what was actually fitted, while the parts and settings are still easy to identify.
For a small bedroom installation, a short handover note can prevent a frustrating service call later. It should let another person find the order, understand the curtain arrangement and operate the system.
Use the order reference and room name as the first line. Then record the track length, opening direction, motor configuration, plug option and the type of runner or carrier fitted to the fabric.
As a product example, the linked Mini WiFi curtain listing describes one motor, one rail and a single-channel remote panel. Its page defaults to a single opening from right to left, with 2, 3, 4 and 5 metre length options. Those are listing options, not a record of what was delivered to a particular room. Copy the confirmed order details into the handover note.
A useful record looks like this:
Leave an unknown field open for confirmation. Do not fill it from an unrelated product photograph.
Take a clear view of the motor end, the track joints and one curtain attachment. Add a wider view showing how the track sits above the window.
These photographs serve different purposes. The joint view helps identify a connection if service is needed. The attachment view shows how the fabric connects to the moving part. The room view records clearances that a close-up cannot show.
Keep passwords, account codes, faces and private room details out of anything sent to the supplier. A close-up of a component rarely needs a wide photograph of the whole home.
Ask the resident to open, stop and close the curtain using the controls included in the order. Check the intended direction and stopping positions together.
The seller's page describes manual pulling during a power or network outage. Ask the installer to demonstrate the correct method for the supplied system and explain any precautions. This is separate from demonstrating powered remote, app or voice operation.
If app access is part of the order, the household should retain control of its own account. Record where the instructions are kept, rather than putting credentials into the handover sheet.
Save the confirmed order, final component photographs, operating instructions and the supplier's contact route together. Ask for the warranty terms applying to this exact order; a general company brochure may cover several different products.
